Delete your data

There is no account to close. One button in the app removes everything, and email works too.

In the app: Delete all data

  1. Open Settings in Luca. Open Luca on your iPhone and go to its settings.
  2. Choose Delete all data. Tap Delete all data and read the confirmation.
  3. Confirm. Confirm. Luca removes what the servers hold under your anonymous identifier, then the data on the device. You need to be online.
  4. Cancel any subscription separately. Deleting data does not cancel a subscription. Cancel Luca Pro in iOS Settings, your name, Subscriptions.

What it removes

  • On our servers: everything held under your anonymous identifier: your friends profile (display name, avatar, streak, the two day flags, badges), your friend code, your friend links and challenge entries, your scan counter, your notification token if there is one, and the identifier itself. Your friends stop seeing you.
  • On your iPhone: your meals, favorites, targets, streaks and achievements.
  • Not there to delete: meal photos and meal text are not stored on the servers in the first place.

This cannot be undone.

iCloud and Apple Health

If iCloud is on for Luca, a copy of your meals is in your own iCloud, which only you control. You can remove it in iOS Settings, your name, iCloud, Manage Account Storage (or Storage), Luca.

Anything Luca wrote to Apple Health is in your own Health store. You can remove it in the Health app: your picture, Apps, Luca, Delete All Data from "Luca".

If you already removed the app

Removing the app deletes the data on that iPhone, but not what the servers hold under the anonymous identifier, and not a copy in your iCloud. The simplest route is to install Luca again and use Delete all data. Or write to us.

By email

Write to support@ege.md and ask for your data to be deleted. Because there is no account, name or email address attached to your data, we need your friend code or the anonymous identifier from your app to find the records. We can delete what the servers hold. We cannot reach into your iPhone, your iCloud or Apple Health, so those are removed with the steps above.

What deletion does not do

  • It does not cancel a subscription. Subscriptions are managed in your Apple Account settings.
  • Purchase records that Apple and RevenueCat keep for the subscription are held under their own policies.
  • Anonymous usage statistics already collected carry nothing that identifies you and cannot be traced back to you to delete.
